Job description
Serve as the technical process lead for proposing, sale, and support of projects from inquiry through sale of custom capital process equipment and systems for solids-based processes. Work closely with sales and customers in identifying and defining needs, costing and presenting proposals, and providing exceptional service. Collaborate with all internal teams to ensure successful project sales. Supports sales and marketing field activities., * Support domestic and international sales and marketing activities.
- Travel to customer sites, trade shows and conferences.
- Provides excellent customer service, communication, and technical information.
- Understands product quality requirements, process design limitations, and unique customer criteria to correctly select the equipment necessary for proposing and testing.
- Designs, creates documentation, conducts bench tests, records data and writes a technical bench test report as necessary.
- Creates budgetary equipment and systems proposals.
- Generates pilot test proposals and provides customer support as needed in pilot testing. Utilizes the data obtained during pilot testing to scale up and provide process guarantees as applicable.
- Accountable for all pre-order process engineering activities except for pilot testing design.
- Timely in technically defining processes, scaling of equipment, and timely preparation of proposals.
- Work with engineering, purchasing, project management and shipping/receiving by coordinating review of customer supplied specifications, documenting the design and determining job and transport costs.
- Obtains and reviews all vendor specifications and is the technical contact for selection of auxiliary equipment.
- Conducts proposal reviews under guidance from management.
- Prepare and transfer all technical and commercial documentation for order entry.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings.
- Provides customer support as needed in commissioning of installed equipment.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in an office environment and industrial process area.
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. in the Pilot Plant area.
- Must be able to work in a classified hazardous area. Protective equipment must be worn in these areas.
- Must be able to travel up to 40% domestic and/or international.
Education:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
Experience/Skills:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in Application Engineering or equivalent experience in custom capital process equipment and systems.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; capacity to manage priorities and expectations.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers, consultants, and suppliers, both written and verbal.
- Must have 3+ years of experience in problem solving.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)., * Do have at least 2 years of experience in Application Engineering or equivalent experience in custom capital process equipment and systems?
