Job description

Property Owners, Insurance Carriers, Contractors, Consultants and Engineers must come together at a moment's notice to solve problems in real-time.

Today, each group operates in a silo, creating a fragmented mess of data across emails, photos, reports, estimates, calls, spreadsheets, and policy documents.

Our goal is simple. Nectur will become the platform that stakeholders trust to align on the truth and make better decisions throughout the property loss lifecycle.

The Role

We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to join the founding team and build the first market-ready version of Nectur across web and mobile. You'll work directly with Nectur leadership, strategic partners and real customers in the field. You'll help decide what gets built, then build it.

This is a hands-on building role with a lot of ownership. If you like shipping, talking to users, and shaping a product from the ground up, you'll fit well here.

What You'll Do

  • Build end-to-end product features across web (React) and mobile (React Native), backed by Python services.
  • Turn messy, real-world workflows into simple, reliable tools.
  • Work directly with customers - including in the field - and turn what you learn into product improvements.
  • Help shape the architecture, engineering practices, and product direction as we grow.
  • Ship continuously, prototype before over-building, and keep systems simple.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience (roughly 7+ years) building and shipping production software.
  • Strong full-stack skills - comfortable across frontend and backend, and able to own a feature end to end.
  • Solid experience with React, React Native, and Python.
  • Experience building APIs and cloud-based applications.
  • Good product instincts - you think about the user, not just the code.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: you can make progress with incomplete information and figure things out as you go.
  • Eagerness to learn. We care as much about how fast you grow as what you already know.
  • Based in the Kansas City area, or willing to relocate., * Experience with AI / LLM-powered features (extraction, RAG, agents, structured outputs). You don't need to be an AI expert - we have help to design the AI work and get up to speed.
  • Experience with Claude Code, our standard development tool. (We'll get you comfortable with it if you're not already.)
  • Startup or early-stage experience.
  • Any exposure to insurance, claims, or the property / construction world.

Benefits & conditions

Pulled from the full job description

  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance, * Ship continuously and learn from real customers every week.
  • Prototype first; avoid over-engineering.
  • Use AI aggressively to move faster.
  • Prefer simple systems over clever ones.
  • Small team, high ownership, fast decisions.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • A genuine ground-floor role: you'll influence product, architecture, and direction before those decisions are locked in.
  • Direct access to founders and customers, and real room to grow into technical leadership as the team scales.
