Job description
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to build and scale the user interfaces that power our platform.
In this role, you will develop high-performance, data-driven web applications, including map-based and visualization-heavy interfaces. You will work closely with backend, platform, product, and design teams to deliver reliable, scalable frontend systems that handle real-time data and complex workflows.
This role is ideal for someone who is deeply technical, performance-focused, and excited about building systems that operate in real-world, mission-critical environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesFrontend Systems Development
- Develop scalable, performant user interfaces using React
- Implement complex workflows and UI components for data-rich applications
- Build interfaces that support real-time data, operational decision-making, and mission-critical workflows
- Deliver intuitive, reliable user experiences for complex technical systems
Data Integration & Performance
- Integrate frontend systems with backend services using REST, GraphQL, or similar APIs
- Optimize rendering performance for large datasets and real-time updates
- Ensure responsive, reliable performance across devices, browsers, and operating environments
- Support frontend performance monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement
Architecture & Maintainability
- Contribute to frontend architecture, including state management, data flow, and application structure
- Build and maintain reusable component libraries and UI systems
- Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Improve frontend reliability, scalability, and developer experience over time
Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Ability to build reliable interfaces for complex workflows and data-rich applications
- Strong technical judgment and ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Skills
- Experience building map-based or geospatial applications using tools such as Mapbox, Leaflet, or Deck.gl
- Familiarity with WebGL or advanced visualization frameworks
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or similar tools
- Understanding of design systems and reusable component architecture
- Experience with real-time systems, data streaming applications, or operational dashboards
- Experience supporting mission-critical, real-world deployed systems
- Experience working in small, fast-moving engineering teams or high-growth technology companies
- Active or prior security clearance
What Success Looks Like
Within 12 months, success in this role looks like scalable, high-performance frontend systems that support real-world operations. You will have helped deliver reliable, intuitive interfaces for complex data and workflows while improving frontend performance, responsiveness, and maintainability.
You will also have built strong alignment across engineering, product, and design teams while helping establish reusable UI components and systems adopted across the platform.
