Job description

The LDN Mission Operations Engineer will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the mission operations architecture for the LDN Relay Satellite and overall Network operations. The individual will use technical expertise to help design and implement operations elements to support Intuitive Machines mission operations.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background in mission operations, be capable of coming up to speed quickly, and be capable of integrating feedback from engineers and software developers.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning, scripting, and execution of training simulations to support Intuitive Machines flight controllers and engineers
  • Provide mentorship and support of real-time operators to build and maintain effective operations teams across all IM programs
  • Assist with product development including test plans, regulatory documentation, system architecture and design solutions related to operations, interface definitions, mission timelines, and procedures
  • Draft and maintain lessons and procedures for multiple spacecraft subsystems and other mission elements (Communications Satellites, Ground Network, Simulator Operations) with a focus on training/pre-mission support
  • Eligible to cross-train in real-time support positions as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and at a minimum 2-5 years' experience in human or robotic spacecraft training operations or equivalent, including:
  • Technical lessons/instruction/curriculum and documentation development
  • Simulator scripting/management
  • Mentoring
  • Planning and use of organized training scripts and/or mission timelines
  • Experience with documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, MS Office (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Problem-solving, multitasking, and task prioritization skills
  • Team-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • This role requires in-office presence in Houston, Texas, * Knowledge of or exposure in one of the following technical disciplines is highly desired:
  • Real-time shift operations of technical systems such as satellite operations or equivalent
  • Spacecraft systems management (Command and Data Handling, Comms, Power, Thermal, Environmental Control/Life Support)
  • GNC/Trajectory Operations
  • Automation/Artificial Intelligence
