Job description
We are seeking a Back-End Software Engineer to develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise software applications supporting data integration and secure API development in a cloud-hosted environment. This role focuses on building robust server-side logic, optimizing database performance, and ensuring seamless data flow within an Agile team under established architectural guidance., * Develop and maintain secure, scalable back-end services and REST APIs using C#, .NET, and Azure PaaS services.
- Design, optimize, and maintain complex relational databases using SQL, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and secure data integration.
- Implement application features, data pipelines, and back-end integrations following established design patterns and coding standards.
- Support data integration with GOTS, COTS, and custom-built enterprise components.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Write comprehensive back-end unit tests and assist with system, integration, and database testing.
- Collaborate with front-end engineers, data stewards, and stakeholders to implement functional requirements.
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving database bottlenecks and server-side software defects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a heavy focus on back-end systems.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and advanced SQL (stored procedures, indexing, query Optimization).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure (specifically Azure SQL, App Services, or other cloud data platforms).
- Deep understanding of REST APIs and DevSecOps practices for securing data at rest and in transit.
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Active Secret Clearance or higher (or ability to obtain).
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Exposure to Dynamics 365 or enterprise application platforms.
- Experience supporting regulated or government systems.
- Familiarity with BI tools or data visualization concepts.
