Job description
We are seeking a skilled Systems Technician responsible for laboratory operations, working directly with engineering teams on the assembly, integration, and testing of optical inter-satellite link systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in opto-mechanical systems and the ability to develop and document technical procedures., * Perform assembly, integration (including fiber splicing), and testing of optical communication systems.
- Work closely with engineering teams to support product development and testing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
- Build and test first article units.
- Support laboratory operations and maintain test equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
- Execute test procedures and record results with high attention to detail.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution.

- Mechanically inclined.
- Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of quality control processes.
- Understanding of ESD protocols.
- Hardware builds.
- SAP.
- Inventory management.
- Optical engineering.
- Fiber optic splicing.
- Engineering technician / mechanical assembly experience.
- Experience working in a lab environment.
- Experience with interferometers.
- Lab management.
- Continuous improvement., * Associate's degree in Electronics, Photonics, or related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in optical systems or related technical field.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and procedure writing.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field.
- Experience with optical communication systems.
- Knowledge of clean room protocols.
- Familiarity with laser safety procedures.
- Experience with precision alignment of optical components.
