Job description
The IT Asset Specialist is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle management of IT assets and telecommunications equipment across the organization. This role assists with asset procurement, inventory management, device provisioning, telecommunications support, vendor coordination, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders., * Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and telecommunications equipment from procurement through deployment, inventory tracking, and retirement.
- Coordinate mobile device management activities, including ordering, provisioning, upgrades, feature changes, transfers, and deactivations.
- Review and reconcile IT asset inventories, telecommunications reports, and vendor invoices to ensure accurate records and billing.
- Coordinate the procurement, configuration, and deployment of end-user computing equipment to support employee onboarding, hardware refreshes, and replacement requests.
- Maintain accurate asset records within asset management systems and ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal users regarding IT asset requests, equipment moves, additions, changes, and telecommunications support.
- Partner with internal IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure timely fulfillment of hardware and telecommunications requests.
- Compile, analyze, and maintain asset and telecommunications data to support operational reporting, audits, inventory reviews, and management dashboards.
- Create and maintain documentation for asset management procedures, workflows, and operational processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve asset management, inventory accuracy, provisioning processes, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with inventory audits, equipment recovery, surplus asset management, and asset disposal activities.
- Support additional IT operations and asset management initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Experience supporting IT asset management, inventory control, procurement, or telecommunications operations.
- Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle management best practices.
- Experience working with asset management systems, inventory databases, or IT service management platforms.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to reconcile reports, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting wireless carriers or mobile device management.
- Familiarity with ITIL principles or IT service management processes.
- Experience with procurement, vendor management, or telecommunications billing.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and enterprise IT equipment.
