Job description
Do you have experience as a Systems Technician? Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Technician to provide technical support for network services and business systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting users, and working in an enterprise IT environment. Under general supervision, the Systems Technician will troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role supports end users, maintains system performance, and assists with LAN/WAN administration and system operations., * Monitor systems to ensure availability and performance for users
- Verify database access and maintain system integrity
- Run scheduled production jobs and system backups
- Maintain and coordinate production schedules
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and network issues
- Diagnose and resolve problems related to applications, connectivity, and operating systems
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and upgrades of LAN/WAN systems
- Monitor network performance and resolve issues as needed
- Support GIS, web, and communication systems as applicable
- Provide user support and training on computer hardware and software
- Track and document support requests and resolutions
- Prepare status reports on completed service items
Requirements
- Knowledge of network systems, LAN/WAN and telecommunications
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, Ethernet, routers, hubs, and switches
- Familiarity with network operating systems (e.g., Microsoft NT, Novell NetWare)
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Basic knowledge of email systems and office software (Word, Excel, databases)
- Ability to analyze, maintain, and support network systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
