This position provides leadership for the integrated Network and Cybersecurity Engineering functions and operates as both a senior technical resource and working manager. The role maintains direct responsibility for complex engineering activities while overseeing daily operational direction across enterprise networking and cybersecurity domains.
The Manager of Network & Cybersecurity Engineering is accountable for the design, implementation, administration, and ongoing support of enterprise network and security platforms. This includes responsibility for infrastructure, perimeter and network security, endpoint and application security, data protection, threat prevention, monitoring, and incident response capabilities.
This role serves as the organization's primary authority for network engineering and cybersecurity engineering practices. Responsibilities include establishing technical standards, guiding platform strategy, ensuring operational readiness, supporting incident response, evaluating technologies, contributing to budgeting and lifecycle planning, and maintaining alignment between infrastructure, security, and organizational priorities.
Supervisory responsibilities are included; however, the position is expected to remain highly hands-on, particularly during the continued integration and maturation of network and cybersecurity functions.

-Provide direction, mentorship, and performance oversight for engineering staff
-Support staffing, onboarding, development, and retention efforts

-Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues
Engineering Responsibilities:
-Act as lead engineer for enterprise network and associated security technologies
-Configure and support network infrastructure including switching, routing, wireless, and remote access
-Administer and maintain firewall and perimeter security platforms
-Lead troubleshooting across infrastructure and security layers
-Support upgrades, migrations, patching, and performance optimization
-Maintain involvement in design, implementation, and production support
Cybersecurity Operations:
-Lead or coordinate technical incident response activities
-Maintain and improve security standards, procedures, and playbooks
-Evaluate and implement technologies to enhance detection, prevention, and response
-Coordinate with internal and external partners on monitoring and remediation
-Maintain awareness of evolving threats and defensive strategies
Architecture & Standards:
-Design and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure solutions
-Define engineering standards, baselines, and best practices
-Ensure layered security controls across systems and environments
-Evaluate technologies for risk reduction and operational fit
Operations & Compliance:
-Monitor system performance, capacity, and reliability
-Maintain systems through patching, updates, and lifecycle management
-Enforce security policies and compliance requirements
-Support remediation of identified risks and vulnerabilities
Strategic Planning & Projects:
-Contribute to long-term infrastructure and cybersecurity planning
-Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
-Lead or participate in technical project delivery
-Maintain documentation for architecture, operations, and recovery
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:
-Engage vendors for solution evaluation and issue resolution
-Oversee support agreements and service expectations
-Ensure third-party solutions meet technical and security requirements
Requirements
Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking and cybersecurity architectures
-Strong hands-on engineering capability across routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation, secure access, monitoring, and response
-Demonstrated leadership in cybersecurity practices, including incident response and risk reduction
-Effective leadership, mentorship, and team development skills
-Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities
-Experience developing technical standards, documentation, and roadmaps
-Ability to evaluate and implement infrastructure and security technologies
-Strong organizational and project management skills
-Effective stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution capabilities, Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
-7+ years of progressive experience in network and/or cybersecurity engineering
-Experience in complex enterprise environments
-Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies
-Strong hands-on experience with firewall and security platforms
-Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives
-Experience in leadership, supervision, or mentorship
-Experience supporting cybersecurity operations and incident response
CERTIFICATIONS:
-Advanced networking certifications preferred
-Cybersecurity certification preferred
-Technical assessments and certification verification may be required

This role operates in a dynamic environment requiring responsiveness to changing priorities, risks, and operational demands. Participation in after-hours support, incident response, and maintenance activities is expected.
Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
