Job description

This position plans, coordinates, and performs the activities required to administer, integrate, and support JAXPORT's enterprise applications and databases. Responsibilities include provisioning and configuring application accounts; developing and maintaining data integration components and automations; administering SQL databases, to include backups, security, and recovery; and providing end-user support. The position coordinates with application vendors, technical staff, and business stakeholders to design and implement solutions that improve business processes, and is responsible for related documentation and training, self-management of assigned projects, and change management procedures., * Perform administrative tasks for enterprise applications, to include provisioning and configuring accounts and applications.

  • Coordinate with application vendors to troubleshoot issues and investigate initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Provide level 2 end-user support for enterprise applications.
  • Validate vendor configuration changes, perform smoke testing following application upgrades, and design test cases for internally developed applications.
  • Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and utilizing integration tools.
  • Investigate and resolve data integration related issues; troubleshoot and provide solutions for resolving integration or application errors.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to enhance or improve business processes through integration or automation. Evaluate the results of integration and automation processes, then report and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Research and recommend integration products and services to carry out enterprise initiatives and improve business processes; assist in gathering and developing functional specifications from business owners to ensure project results meet business objectives.
  • Coordinate with technical staff and business stakeholders to design, build, and implement integration solutions that meet business requirements, translating between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create test plans, user guides, and technical documentation for enterprise application integrations-including custom configurations and operating procedures-and coordinate training sessions.
  • Maintain SQL databases, to include routine backups, restores, permissions, security, and database recovery and restoration processes; diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
  • Develop processes and standards for ongoing maintenance of corporate databases, including automation of repeating database tasks.

Performs other duties as required or assigned., * Valid driver license is required and must be maintained during employment.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) during employment.
  • May require working during off-hours and/or overtime, depending on workload and/or special projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently remain in a stationary position.
  • Frequently move, traverse inside office or on JAXPORT property to accomplish job duties.
  • Occasionally operate, use or handle equipment, tools, computers and other office machinery.
  • Rarely/Never ascend, descend, work atop, traverse on ladders, equipment and buildings to perform maintenance and safety functions. Heights up to 200 feet.
  • Rarely/Never position self to move, to maintain or repair equipment on terminal or in office.
  • Occasionally detect, determine, identify, recognize, observe, inspect to read and use computers.
  • Occasionally detect, converse with, convey, exchange information with others via radio, telephone. Ability to listen to equipment to troubleshoot
  • Occasionally move, transport and position, material up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related field preferred. At JAXPORT's discretion candidate may substitute proven expertise in the Information Technology field in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience:

  • One or more years' experience in leading projects is preferred.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise applications in a helpdesk ticketing environment, working independently and collaborating with IT and business stakeholders.
  • One or more years' experience in gathering project requirements and collaborating with various IT positions and end users is preferred.
  • Experience gathering and assessing technical requirements for system integrations, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Experience with data management, including ensuring data integrity and accuracy across system integrations.

Knowledge:

  • Working technical experience with relational database servers (SQL Server).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery.
  • Working experience using Python and SQL to query and manipulate data and debug issues.
  • Working knowledge of web services and integration tools: REST APIs, XML etc.
  • Working knowledge of reporting tools: SSRS, Power BI, BIRT, etc.
  • Working knowledge of software testing practices.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT, including hands-on experience using Claude Code to support application development.
