Job description
GlobalFoundries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Enterprise Network Architect to join our Infrastructure Solutions Delivery organization. This position will own the vision, strategy, roadmaps, long range planning for Network Infrastructure, Global SDWAN, WAN Optimization and Voice architecture to support Semiconductor FABS, Sales and Design offices.
Team Objectives:
- Ensure all IT solutions follow agreed architectural methodologies.
- Manage business requirements, contain development costs, and reduce the time to delivery.
- Ensure the quality and security of IT Infrastructure platforms.
- Deploy stable and flexible IT infrastructure enabling easy maintenance and updates for future demand.
- Ensure infrastructure reliability by design, including disaster recovery capabilities., * Architecture & Strategy: Define the long-term roadmap for global connectivity, focusing on scalability, high availability, and security. Influence management on strategic direction with a vendor neutral approach and maintain industry standards.
- Data Center: Design and implement next-gen Data Center architectures using Leaf-Spine topologies, Cisco ACI, or Arista.
- Automation & DevOps: Replace manual CLI workflows with Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Develop CI/CD pipelines for network changes using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Voice & Collaboration: Lead the integration of enterprise Voice/VoIP infrastructure (SBCs, SIP Trunking) with cloud-based platforms like Microsoft Teams or Cisco Webex.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the technical bridge between Server, Security, and Cloud teams to ensure cohesive infrastructure delivery.
- Performance Engineering: Collaborate with Observability team to ensure integration of core network foundation and business applications.
- Process Engineering: Manage reference architecture, processes, deployment playbooks, best practices, project scope, timeline and budget. Leverage less critical pilot sites for first production rollouts prior to FAB deployments.
- External Collaboration: Manage OEM vendor relationships, validate reference designs and participate in industry peer reviews.
- Talent Development & Mentoring: Identify and nurture top engineering talent for growth opportunities. Actively participate in mentoring new and existing staff. Ensure redundancy of skillset amongst staff for distributed knowledgebase and global coverage.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, such as CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking (Catalyst/Nexus) for datacenter.
- Ability to travel to other sites in North America for implementations (Burlington, VT)
