Job description
St. John's Seminary is seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator to manage and support the Seminary's technology infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administration Officer, this position is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient IT systems while providing exceptional technical support to faculty, staff, and seminarians.
Essential Responsibilities
· Administer and maintain physical and cloud-based servers.
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and Microsoft 365 services.
· Monitor system performance and network reliability.
· Configure and maintain LAN/WAN, VPNs, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
· Implement cybersecurity best practices, such as firewalls, endpoint protection, patching, and vulnerability management.
· Monitor and maintain security camera (CCTV) systems.
· Support VoIP/PBX telephone systems.
· Respond to help desk requests and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
· Manage backup and disaster recovery processes.
· Maintain system documentation and recommend technology improvements.
· Provide end-user training and promote cybersecurity awareness.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
· 10+ years of progressively responsible experience administering computer systems, servers, networks, and IT infrastructure.
· Strong experience with Windows and Linux environments.
· Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft 365, VMware or Hyper-V, and Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
·· Experience with database administration or programming.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish).
· Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or faith-based organizations.
