Job description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our IT and security team. The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for protecting the organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats by implementing security measures, monitoring environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity., * Design, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect systems, networks, and data.
- Monitor security tools and alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security, and SIEM platforms.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system architecture and deployments.
- Perform security audits and compliance assessments.
- Maintain documentation related to security configurations, incidents, and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security roles.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or SOC 2.
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, SIEM tools, endpoint protection, and cloud security technologies.
- Understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and system administration.
- Experience with vulnerability management and incident response processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- CompTIA Security+
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (plus)
- Scripting or automation experience using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
