Job description
At Abacus Medicine Group, security comes first. We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Security Operations Specialist to join our IT Security & Compliance team and help develop and operate our Security Operations capability based on the Microsoft Security platform.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a solid IT operations background who enjoys investigating problems, understanding root causes, and taking ownership of solutions in a modern Microsoft environment.
What you will do:
- Develop and operate our Security Operations function (SOC)
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents
- Manage and optimize Microsoft security technologies, including:
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Microsoft Defender for Identity
- Perform security assessments and identify vulnerabilities
- Drive root-cause analysis and implement long-term improvements
- Work closely with IT Operations, IT Support, and other stakeholders across the business
- Maintain security documentation, procedures, and policies
- Support security awareness and best-practice adoption across IT teams
- Stay current on emerging security threats, trends, and technologies.
Requirements
- Around 3+ years of relevant experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure, Network Administration, System Administration, or IT Security
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, including Azure environments
- Experience with security monitoring, incident response, and operational security processes
- Good understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive them through to resolution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Genuine interest in operational cyber security.
