Job description

We are looking for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join our agile product development team and contribute to the development of next-generation GNSS positioning platforms. The role focuses on designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining embedded software running on Linux-based ARM platforms. You will work closely with hardware engineers, system architects, product owners, verification engineers, and GNSS experts to build reliable and secure embedded Linux systems for professional and industrial positioning applications. The position covers the complete product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through production and maintenance.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded Linux software for ARM-based platforms.
  • Customize and integrate Linux BSPs, kernels, device trees, and drivers.
  • Develop and maintain Buildroot and/or Yocto-based Linux distributions.
  • Integrate GNSS receiver modules and positioning software
  • Design and implement system services, daemons, and middleware components.
  • Support board bring-up activities on prototype and production hardware.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams during schematic reviews, board bring-up, and system debugging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience developing software for embedded Linux systems with Buildroot and/or Yocto.
  • Strong programming skills in C (and/or Rust).
  • Experience with Linux system internals, processes, networking, kernel configuration, device tree development and interfacing peripherals like UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.
  • Strong debugging skills using tools such as GDB, Valgrind, strace and tcpdump.
  • Experience with Git-based software development workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with GNSS, sensor fusion, or positioning technologies.
  • Experience with NXP i.MX93 or similar embedded SoCs.
  • Experience with secure boot, TPMs, cryptography, and embedded cybersecurity concepts.
  • Experience with OTA software update tools like RAUC.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI or similar.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing test and production environments.
  • Experience using HW debugging tools like Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, etc.
