Microsoft-oriented Application Engineer

At Amaris Consulting, we are looking for a Microsoft-oriented Application Engineer to take full technical ownership of MARS , our business-critical transactional application based on Cegid . This role focuses on application management, database expertise, and cloud migration on a Microsoft stack, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience while leading the transition and optimization to Azure Cloud using DevOps automation. Your responsibilities - Administer and operate the MARS application on Microsoft IIS . - Ensure 24/7 availability, performance, and stability of the platform. - Manage and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases (tuning, indexing, query optimization). - Implement High Availability and clustering (AlwaysOn, failover). - Troubleshoot incidents end-to-end across IIS, SQL Server, OS, and network layers; conduct root cause analysis and produce permanent fixes. - Design and execute migration/optimization of MARS to Azure (IaaS/PaaS, networking, storage, monitoring). - Define resilience and disaster recovery strategy. - Implement DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code - ARM/Bicep/Terraform, automated deployment and rollback). - Coordinate with Cegid and internal stakeholders for upgrades, patches, and releases. - Collaborate with internal IT and infrastructure teams, acting as the technical point of contact for MARS. - Maintain clear documentation of architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures. Your profile Core Technical Skills (must-have) - Hands-on experience with Microsoft IIS (hosting, SSL, authentication, load balancing, troubleshooting). - Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server - advanced SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, AlwaysOn/ failover clusters. - Production experience with Azure (networking, security, monitoring, cost management). - Strong understanding of Web Services (REST/SOAP) and integration patterns. - Experience with DevOps automation - CI/CD tools, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python). Application / ERP Orientation - Experience managing business-critical transactional applications (ERP, core banking, billing, retail). - Experience with Cegid or similar ERP/financial/retail solutions is a plus. - Comfortable working across application, database, and infrastructure. Soft Skills - Strong ownership and accountability mindset. - Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders. - Proactive, structured approach to challenging and improving existing setups. - Good level of English (written and spoken).
