We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer for a one-month contract to provide technical assistance and support within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across various platforms. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in computer networking, desktop support, and systems administration to contribute their expertise in a dynamic environment., * Deliver comprehensive technical support to end-users via help desk channels, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Manage and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals.
- Utilise tools such as SCCM and ServiceNow to manage asset inventories and incident tracking efficiently.
- Conduct network analysis using TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and analyse network traffic for troubleshooting purposes.
- Support remote connectivity solutions including VPNs and remote desktop services to facilitate secure access for users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system updates, patches, and security measures.
- Document all support activities accurately within ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy and Jira.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with users at all levels of technical understanding.
Requirements
- Proven experience in technical support or IT support roles within enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration and Active Directory management.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Experience troubleshooting software issues using tools like SCCM and ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of security protocols including firewall management and VPN configuration.
- Ability to diagnose hardware problems related to computer hardware components.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Analytical skills necessary for problem-solving within complex IT infrastructures.
