Job description

  • We design and build cloud-native architectures.
  • We use Terraform or CDK to deploy resources.
  • We create and manage infrastructure, including its design.
  • We liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • We create exemplar implementation patterns for projects, including standard scripts and configuration management setups.
  • We manage and control software configuration for projects, including source repositories.
  • We leverage AWS security features and ensure security best practices with developers.
  • For senior engineers, we may offer the opportunity to lead teams or individuals.

Requirements

  • We need you to be skilled across a range of AWS services and keen to stay up to date with the latest releases.
  • We need experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.
  • We need experience using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
  • We need an understanding of networking and how it translates to software-defined networking in the cloud.
  • We need experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, ECS or OpenShift.
  • We need proficiency in scripting in at least one language such as Python, Bash or Go.
  • AWS certifications are desirable, though not essential.
  • A public sector background is desirable, though not essential.
  • You must be eligible for UK Security Vetting at SC and DV level; clearance sponsorship may be provided where required.

We are a leading global defence, aerospace and security consultancy firm recruiting several AWS Cloud Engineers for a permanent role in Gloucester. The salary is £50,000 to £80,000 per annum base, dependent on experience, plus benefits. We offer a supportive and inclusive recruitment approach and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
