Job description

  • Support and maintain the Council's Housing Applications, including the NEC Integrated Housing Management System.
  • Manage incidents, problems, changes, and releases to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Monitor application performance and resolve technical issues within agreed service levels.
  • Coordinate system testing, upgrades, deployments, and enhancements.
  • Maintain data integrity, governance, and compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Produce and maintain system documentation, procedures, and support materials.
  • Support business change initiatives and identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Deliver user support, training, and knowledge transfer where required.
  • Maintain business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery arrangements.
  • Liaise with Housing Services, Digital teams, suppliers, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide technical advice, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective operational support and continuous improvement of Housing systems.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting NEC Housing applications or similar housing management systems.
  • Strong background in ICT, Digital Services, or Technology Operations.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
  • Experience managing suppliers, vendors, and third-party support providers.
  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, business change, and service improvement.
  • Knowledge of data governance, information management, and data protection.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Degree, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with the NEC Integrated Housing Management System.
  • Local Government, Housing, or Public Sector experience.
  • Knowledge of Housing Management processes and legislation.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
  • PRINCE2, Agile, MSP, or other project management qualification.
  • Experience with cloud-based or SaaS applications.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. BCS).
