IT Security Consultant

We're looking for an IT Security Consultant to join our growing team in Oldbury. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of clients, delivering practical security solutions, assessing cyber risks, and supporting businesses in strengthening their overall security posture.

What You'll Be Doing

• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability reviews, and risk analyses.
• Identify security weaknesses and recommend practical remediation plans.
• Support the implementation of security controls, policies, and best practices.
• Perform security audits against recognised industry standards.
• Assist with incident response investigations and security reporting.
• Work with internal teams and clients to improve cyber resilience.
• Review network, cloud, and endpoint security configurations.
• Provide technical guidance on security technologies and compliance requirements.
• Stay informed about the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends.
• Produce clear technical documentation and client reports.

• Strong understanding of cyber security principles and risk management.
• Knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Experience working with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management and security assessment tools.
• Understanding of frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards.
• Relevant cyber security certifications are advantageous but not essential.
