Job description
Database Data Engineer | London (3 days a week onsite) | up to £100,000, This is a database-heavy Data Engineer position where you'll take ownership of designing, optimising and evolving production-critical systems across AWS. Particularly using SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments., * Design and deliver scalable database solutions (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
- Lead migrations of MS SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS
- Build and manage data pipelines
- Drive performance tuning, query optimisation, and indexing strategies
- Collaborate across engineering teams to embed robust database architecture
Requirements
- 5+ years in database engineering (design, build, optimisation, support)
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL) and PostgreSQL
- Proven experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB)
- Track record of cloud migrations and database modernisation
- Experience with ETL, pipelines, and replication
- Python or similar scripting skills with an automation mindset
