Job description

  • We lead the delivery and support of enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
  • We provide senior technical escalation for complex network issues.
  • We investigate and resolve high-level networking incidents and problems.
  • We support and develop a complex enterprise network across multiple locations.
  • We work across Cisco ACI, Nexus, Catalyst, Firepower, ASA, wireless, Check Point, Azure and Microsoft 365 connectivity.
  • We deliver infrastructure improvements, technology refreshes and large-scale implementation projects.
  • We collaborate with architects, suppliers and technical specialists.
  • We ensure secure, resilient and always-on connectivity for critical services.
  • We mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards.
  • We help shape the future direction of the enterprise network environment.

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with Cisco CCNP level expertise or equivalent experience.
  • We require significant experience supporting large-scale Cisco enterprise environments.
  • We want experience across Cisco ACI, Nexus and Catalyst platforms.
  • We need experience with Cisco Firepower and ASA firewalls, and Check Point firewalls.
  • We are looking for experience with wireless LAN controllers and access points.
  • We require strong knowledge of routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP and port channels.
  • We need experience with TCP/IP networking, VPN technologies, DNS and DHCP.
  • We want experience with PKI, certificates, Microsoft Azure connectivity and Microsoft 365 connectivity.
  • We are looking for experience supporting enterprise LAN, WAN and data centre networks.
  • We value experience leading infrastructure upgrades and technical refresh programmes.
  • We need technical leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Experience in policing, central government, emergency services, defence or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain the appropriate level of security clearance.
  • Candidates with NPPV3 or Security Check (SC) clearance will have an advantage.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and meet residency requirements for security clearance.

About the company

We are a major public sector organisation supporting critical digital infrastructure across multiple locations. This is a 12-month contract role offered on an umbrella basis at £500 per day, inside IR35, with a hybrid working pattern of 2-3 days per week on site in West Yorkshire. You will join a specialist enterprise networking team in a security-conscious environment, working on technology that genuinely matters and supporting services with real operational impact. We offer the chance to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership across modern Cisco networking, cloud connectivity, enterprise security platforms and large-scale infrastructure programmes.
