Software Engineer Android Developer

• Build Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Design and ship backend services in Rust, Python, or Go
• Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Contribute across mobile, backend, and cloud-native systems in a secure, high-assurance environment
• Participate in rapid iteration, including proof-of-concepts where requirements evolve quickly
• Collaborate closely through code reviews and Git-based workflows

• DevOps, We are hiring for a hands-on Software Engineer role focused on Android, backend, and cloud engineering within our defence team. This is a contract or permanent opportunity based in Cheltenham, working 5 days a week with 1 day per week in Herefordshire for client visits. We value clean engineering, strong collaboration, and real-world problem solving where the technology genuinely matters.

• Experience with Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Experience with backend development in Rust, Python, or Go
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with API design, including REST and OpenAPI
• Experience working in secure or controlled environments
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC Level) prior to appointment
• Nice to have: experience with AWS or Azure
