Job description

I am looking for an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join a well know UK not-for-profit company based near Bishops Stortford. As an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing and securing the companies whole IT infrastructure across the UK., * Take ownership of the organisation's infrastructure estate, ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance and strategic development of both cloud and on-premise technologies.

  • Oversee the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and associated services.
  • Design, implement and support robust backup, disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks to safeguard critical business systems.
  • Spearhead and deliver infrastructure enhancement projects, including cloud migrations, system upgrades, technology refreshes and platform modernisation initiatives.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, providing expert 3rd line support and troubleshooting.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, technology partners and third-party suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of IT services.
  • Contribute to infrastructure strategy, technical roadmaps and continuous service improvement, helping to shape the organisation's future technology landscape.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive and Sophos.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, including the design, deployment and management of cloud-based infrastructure and Azure Backup solutions.
  • Solid networking expertise covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching, VPNs, firewalls, WAN connectivity and wireless networks.
  • Proven experience managing and maintaining VMware vSphere/ESXi environments
  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication and implementing robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, administration and operational efficiency.
  • Relevant industry certifications in Microsoft, Azure, Networking or Cyber Security would be highly desirable.
