Job description
- Take a leading role in the development team, shaping the technical delivery of our projects and fostering collaboration and innovation
- Ensure the solutions we build are robust, scalable, and aligned with client goals
- Mentor and support team members, sharing knowledge and upskilling developers
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in PHP with basic JavaScript capabilities
- Lead the setup of new Magento projects, including version control and environment deployment
- Deliver advanced coding solutions with Magento, PHP, and GraphQL
- Troubleshoot and debug code effectively to resolve issues
- Optimise web applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope, quote, and plan technical deliverables
- Coach and mentor less experienced developers to enhance their skills
- Take ownership of projects as the main developer, managing them from inception to completion
- Play a leading role in scoping and preparatory work, providing technical expertise and input
- Create and maintain technical documentation for internal and client use
- Keep up to date with the latest backend development tools and technologies
- Advocate for and implement modern development standards and techniques
- Support test work across multiple devices, ensuring compatibility and usability

Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Magento 2, PHP 8+, and GraphQL
- Good understanding of automated testing concepts and frameworks, including PHPUnit, integration tests, and API tests
- Good understanding of server administration on Linux/Unix and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and Docker
- Experience using Git for version control and team collaboration
- Experience with package managers, especially Composer
- Experience with GitHub, including pull requests and code reviews, is a plus
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipelines, specifically CircleCI, is a plus
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, including unit, integration, and functional tests, is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Commerce Cloud is a plus
- Knowledge of performance optimisation and caching, including Redis and Varnish, is a plus
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools is a plus
- Experience with Hyvä is a plus
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality backend solutions for e-commerce platforms
- Experience managing and maintaining projects as the main developer
- Ability to independently set up and deploy Magento projects from scratch
- Familiarity with gathering and implementing user feedback to enhance solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities
