Job description

  • Deliver on-site technical support at a primary school and rotate across a cluster of nearby schools as scheduled.
  • Provide 1st line support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Install and configure IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom AV systems.
  • Troubleshoot common issues with Windows, Office 365, and general networking (DNS, DHCP, file permissions).
  • Maintain school IT systems including updates, backups, and user account management via Active Directory.
  • Assist with mobile device management, including Apple and Windows-based systems.
  • Collaborate with AITs wider technical team to escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment used, and issues resolved.
  • Travel between sites as part of a scheduled support rota (mileage covered where applicable).

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a 1st line or school-based IT support role
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and manage time across multiple locations
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • Friendly, calm, and professional attitude when working with staff and students
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above or equivalent professional IT qualification (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft certification)
  • Installation and configuration of IT hardware and software
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and above
  • Experience with Windows Server (2012 R2 and above)
  • Understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
  • Office 365 admin experience, including Exchange Online and PowerShell
  • Basic hardware and networking troubleshooting skills
