Job description

  • Join our Global Backend team at OE Engineering as a Backend Engineer II.
  • Help migrate and maintain the systems that power flagship features such as Saving Sessions and Octoplus.
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to develop scalable features.
  • Contribute to a new backend codebase used by our global Octopus Energy teams.
  • Help shape the future of low-carbon living across heat pumps, EV chargers, and solar panels.

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with a general interest in technology and problem-solving, and someone who is diligent and thoughtful.
  • Experience or expertise in Python.
  • Experience or expertise in Django or an equivalent web framework.
  • Experience or expertise in domain modelling.
  • Experience or expertise in GraphQL.
  • Experience writing robust and fault-tolerant software.
  • Experience with Celery and async processing.
  • Experience with Postgres.
  • Bonus experience with AWS.
  • Bonus experience with React and Redux.
