Job description
If you're an experienced Senior Data Engineer who enjoys building modern cloud data platforms and wants to play a key role in the next generation of AI-enabled data solutions, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.
We are working with a well-established UK Wealth Management organisation embarking on an exciting transformation of our enterprise data platform. Significant investment is being made in Microsoft Fabric, Azure and AI technologies as we modernise how data supports investment decisions, regulatory reporting, client insight and business intelligence.
This isn't a role where you'll inherit a mature platform and spend your time maintaining legacy solutions.
Instead, you'll help shape the future direction of our Azure-native data platform, influence technical decisions, lead the adoption of Microsoft Fabric and play an important role in preparing a data estate for the next generation of AI capabilities.
The Opportunity
Joining a highly skilled and collaborative data team, you'll combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, helping design and deliver scalable cloud data solutions while mentoring other engineers and influencing engineering standards.
You'll work closely with architects, developers, analysts and business stakeholders, helping deliver robust, secure and scalable data solutions within a highly regulated Wealth Management environment where data quality, governance and engineering excellence genuinely matter.
As the platform continues to evolve, you'll also help shape how AI capabilities become part of the data ecosystem, enabling more intelligent analytics, automation and decision-making across the organisation.
What You'll Be Working On
You'll play a leading role across a modern Microsoft technology stack, including:
- Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse & OneLake)
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- SQL Server & advanced SQL development
- Enterprise ETL / ELT pipelines
- Power BI semantic models and reporting
- API integrations across internal and third-party platforms
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD
- Modern cloud data architecture
- AI-enabled analytics and intelligent data services
Alongside delivering new platform capabilities, you'll help define engineering best practice, improve platform performance and support the continued evolution of our Microsoft Fabric strategy., * Azure Data Engineer

AI Experience
One of the key areas of growth for our platform is the adoption of AI.
We're particularly interested in speaking with engineers who have started applying AI technologies within production environments, including experience with areas such as:
- Azure AI Foundry
- Azure OpenAI
- Microsoft Copilot
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI model integration
- AI service operationalisation
- Machine Learning
- AI-enabled analytics
- Intelligent automation
You don't need to be an AI specialist.
However, we're looking for evidence that you've moved beyond traditional data engineering and have begun integrating modern AI capabilities into enterprise data platforms.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn't just another Azure Data Engineering position.
You'll be joining at a pivotal point in our technology journey where you'll have the opportunity to:
- Help lead our migration towards Microsoft Fabric
- Influence the future architecture of our enterprise data platform
- Shape how AI is adopted across the business
- Mentor and develop other engineers
- Work on genuinely business-critical platforms supporting a leading Wealth Management organisation
- Join a collaborative team where technical ideas are encouraged and your contribution has real visibility

- Hybrid working
- Ongoing investment in Microsoft Fabric, Azure and AI technologies
