Platform Engineer

• Join our dedicated team as a mid-level to senior Platform Engineer
• Work collaboratively with engineers and scientists on the design of our platform layer
• Help shape how our platform layer is designed and implemented
• Build and support systems and APIs that coordinate work, manage state, and handle failure
• Contribute to optimising complex engineering systems

• Strong academic background, ideally in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Scientific Software
• Strong software engineering skills in modern languages, ideally Python and Rust
• Experience designing systems and APIs between them, including services that coordinate work, manage state, and handle failure
• Focus on code quality
• Knowledge of cloud computing or HPC job management, such as Slurm, is highly beneficial
• Experience with identity and authorization flows such as OIDC/OAuth2 is highly beneficial
• Experience deploying containerized services on Linux, such as Podman, is highly beneficial
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Ansible or OpenTofu, is highly beneficial
• Experience with modern Python tooling and packaging is highly beneficial
• Experience with data storage and pipelines, including large simulation results and model serving, is highly beneficial
