Job description

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and data stores.
  • Work with our frontend engineers to build features our users love.
  • Work with our product team to refine and break down user stories for rapid delivery to production.
  • Debug complex production issues across services and multiple layers of the stack.
  • Prioritise tasks effectively and stay focused on what matters.
  • Set technical direction on projects and make pragmatic decisions when scope or approach needs to change.
  • Build and maintain core data flows for our products with a focus on security, privacy, robustness, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and data processing pipelines that handle large volumes of data.
  • Work with our Data Science team to build and maintain data models for injury risk prevention technology.

Requirements

  • Experience building APIs or working as part of a team building dynamic web applications.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and languages.
  • We work mostly in Ruby, but we value learning over specific language experience.
  • High standards for software quality, including effective QA, high-quality code, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work in a CI/CD environment with standardised, fully tested code.
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms is a bonus.
  • Experience working with AI tools is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning models is a bonus.
