Job description

  • We lead the design, build, automation, and continuous improvement of Azure cloud platform services.
  • We provide technical leadership, architectural design input, engineering mentoring, and platform enablement.
  • We work directly on Azure platform services, Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, cloud networking, security controls, monitoring, resilience, and operational supportability.
  • We support Azure releases such as Cosmos and container apps.
  • We contribute to greenfield and BAU projects.
  • We support engineers and work at the architecture level.
  • We lead cloud engineering delivery and set technical direction.
  • We drive security governance, regulatory controls, operational resilience, monitoring, and cost optimisation.
  • We build engineering culture, standards, and mentoring practices.

Requirements

  • We need proven lead-level commercial experience in Azure cloud engineering within a regulated environment, ideally FSA-regulated.
  • We need expert hands-on and architectural Azure cloud skills in a large regulated environment.
  • We need strong Terraform skills and experience with infrastructure as code and platform automation.
  • We need expert knowledge of DevOps, including building and maintaining pipelines.
  • We need experience with Azure landing zones, Terraform-based IaC frameworks, and multi-stage CI/CD pipelines.
  • We need a background in infrastructure before moving into cloud and Azure.
  • We need experience leading cloud engineering delivery and working at a senior level with multiple stakeholders.
  • We need the ability to mentor and coach engineers when required.
  • We need experience delivering in a standalone, critical role and the ability to add value immediately.

Benefits & conditions

We are a financial services client offering a fully home-based Lead Azure Cloud Platform Engineer role, open to candidates anywhere across the UK. This is a standalone and critical hands-on leadership position focused on Azure platform engineering in a regulated environment. We offer a salary of £90,000 to £100,000 plus bonus and benefits, with interviews taking place soon.
