Job description

Designs, develops, configures, and supports enterprise workflow and Business Process Management (BPM) solutions. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, then translates those needs into hands-on configuration and development within low-code workflow platforms (primarily Appian, with legacy AWD), while also supporting production workflows and enhancements., + Conduct business process analysis and needs assessments in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

  • Use Business Process Modeling techniques and tools to create business process models.

  • Facilitate the elicitation of business and systems requirements, utilizing comprehensive understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.

  • Coordinate system requirement tasks to include product design, integration and testing.

  • Assist to develop and complete actions in system specifications, including technical requirements, product requirements, test considerations, operational concerns, and system constraints.

  • Interact with customers and third party vendors, co-workers, projects teams and management for system development.

  • Prepare decision-making documentation (i.e. business case) for potential new product development approaches.

  • Lead effort to develop new or revised processes or procedures in lieu of system development.

  • Mentor and train users on business process modeling, and support questions related to system process or business unit process.

  • Lead project teams that are developing or modifying highly complex information systems, including the analysis and documentation of business and system requirements.

  • Provide leadership to analyze business unit requests and understand business requirements. Work with various technical staff members to determine possible solutions and communicate business and system impacts to IT and Operations staff.

  • Participate in process improvement.

  • Continually improve the quality and efficiency of work.

  • May serve as a participant in the Enterprise Architecture program. Provide input on how data is created, stored and used (re-used) as it relates to business processes.

  • Conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and develops formal recommendations to management.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.

  • Assist in coordinating requirements within software package development.

  • Use project management and program management methodologies to support a systems development methodology to meet project deliverables.

  • Report against DB2 and Oracle databases via SQL tools.

  • Assist with recommending potential solutions that provide the most effective results for the enterprise. Recommend changes in procedures and ensure the use of consistent team operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or business-related field, or equivalent education/experience, preferably in IT, accounting, investments or marketing

  • Eight years of experience in platform administration or business systems analysis with a focus on imaging and process flow products.

  • Two years of experience managing technical projects in a complex environment.

  • Ability to define and develop system requirements

  • Moderate understanding of python and web services.

  • Moderate understanding of data schema concepts on Oracle and DB2.

  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify best practice for standard business process design for technical requirements development, system interconnect/interface design coordination with subsystems, and development of cost estimates.

  • Leadership and decision making skills.

  • Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Organization skills and the demonstrated ability to multitask, including the ability to manage multiple diverse projects with competing deadlines.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public..

  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of systems methodology, project management, quality assurance and testing methodologies, graphical user interfaces, and relational database management system desired. Basic knowledge of insurance company operations.

  • Moderate understanding of python

  • Two years of industry experience.

  • Appian / BPM experience

  • The Salary for this position generally ranges between $77,000 - $100,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs.
