Job description
As the Fixed Route and Charter Systems Manager, you will own the day-to-day execution, safety compliance, and financial efficiency of both our scheduled transit routes and custom charter operations. You will balance complex driver scheduling and asset utilization to maximize fleet efficiency, reduce downtime, and drive revenue growth through seamless client bookings., Fleet & Resource Optimization: Dispatch, route, and coordinate vehicle and driver assets to meet strict daily operational schedules while maintaining maximum fleet utilization.
- Safety & Compliance Ownership: Champion a relentless safety culture. Model, train, and reinforce safety-focused practices while strictly monitoring and auditing driver qualifications and regulatory compliance.
- Data-Driven Performance Management: Leverage shuttle tracking systems and data telemetry to evaluate driver performance, optimize routing, and meet operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Strategic Team Leadership: Develop and execute staffing models, manage work plans, and implement progressive discipline and accountability processes that foster employee development and retention.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Ensure the evolving needs of institutional affiliates are met through ultra-reliable, responsive service. Serve as the point of contact for custom charter bookings, managing the end-to-end pipeline from routing to client billing.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously analyze daily operational and financial reports to identify bottlenecks, iterate on feedback, and scale service quality.
- Transparent Communication: Maintain open, clear communication loops across all field staff and corporate leadership teams.
Requirements
- An Experienced Operator: You have a strong background in operations management, logistics, or fleet management, ideally in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- A Natural Leader: You have a proven track record of managing diverse, frontline teams and holding people accountable while motivating them to perform.
- Data-Fluent: You don't just look at spreadsheets; you extract insights from metrics, route tracking data, and operational reports to make smart, real-time decisions.
- Customer-Obsessed: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess the high EQ required to manage institutional client relationships.
- A Problem Solver: You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive when juggling multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
Qualifications
What you need
- Demonstrates ability to lead, manage and motivate a diverse group of team members.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or tech-enabled process mapping).
- Prior experience managing dual-revenue operations (e.g., combining fixed contracts with ad-hoc charter/on-demand services).
- Comfortable utilizing modern transit technology, dispatch software, and data analytics dashboards.
- Passionate about going above and beyond to deliver the best possible customer experience and client satisfaction by finding unique ways to solve problems.
- Ability to react and problem-solve quickly.
- Experience using various computer applications/systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to learn internal computer programs.
License Requirement: Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
