Job description

AFCENT's mission is to deliver combat-ready air, space, communications, and cyberspace capability for USCENTCOM, helping maintain security and stability throughout Southwest Asia. We support the AFCENT Commander, USCENTCOM, coalition and joint partners, and warfighters who rely on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, partner networks, and other command-and-control systems. The AFCENT NOSC program is focused on running and protecting a 24/7 enterprise network and systems operations, including cybersecurity, engineering, maintenance, and technical support, keeping the AFCENT's theater communications and IT infrastructure ready, secure, and available to effectively execute the AFCENT mission., SMS is looking for a Configuration Manager to support our AFCENT NOSC contract at Shaw AFB in SC. In this role the person will collect, store, and manage the approved baselines of systems being documented through the Configuration Change Items (CCIs).   • Establish and support the Configuration/ Change Advisory Board (CAB) in accordance with Operating Instructions.
  • Provide functional management of the CAB, coordinate place and time of the CAB with board president and other voting members, collect recorded meeting minutes and publish information on a secure web page.
  • Manage the current system for new requirements and the current Trouble ticket system for O&M equipment purchases.
  • Create, coordinate, and manage all Configuration Management (CM) Communications Task Orders (CTO) submissions and release to leadership for publishing.
  • Work with Change and Release Management to check all systems and network standard processes through performance evaluation for technical accuracy and viability.
  • Ensure CM OPR Tabs within local policies are technically accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage the procurement, licensing, and life-cycle of all software to include but not limited to the Quote process, purchase, store, make available to requestor all software utilized on the Enterprise.
  • Use toolsets such as MECM and Solar Winds to validate actively used software, as well as analyzing versioning to ensure proper security and patching is accurate.
  • Compile appropriate data to support the Risk Management Framework process pertaining to each documented circuit up for accreditation annually.
  • Use extensive LAN/WAN background and experience to understand systems and network architecture configurations.
  • Provide General IT Management support.
  • Provide General Networking support.
  • Provide LAN support.
  • Provide WAN Enterprise support.
  • Provide technical and general O&M support as required.
  • Provide documentation/reports support as required.
  • Provide meetings/briefings support as required.
  • Provide functional training support as required.
  • Provide OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.
  • Provide CONUS TDY support as required.

Requirements

  • Associates in related field and 3 or more years' relevant IT experience Or 5 or more years' relevant IT experience.
  • Experience providing enterprise cybersecurity and supply chain risk management guidance for development of the Continuity of Operations Plans.
  • Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server using server images.
  • Experience with implementation of storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.
  • A+CE certification required
  • ITIL Foundation (candidate has up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification)
  • Hold an Active DoD Secret-level clearance.
