Job description
As a BI Engineer, you will develop and deliver enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that help business and technology teams make informed, data-driven decisions. Using Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, and modern data technologies, you will transform complex data into actionable insights, build scalable data models, and create intuitive reporting solutions that support key business objectives.
You will partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand reporting needs, enhance analytics capabilities, and deliver high-quality BI solutions. In addition, you will support data modernization initiatives, maintain reporting platforms, and drive continuous improvements in data visualization, reporting performance, and analytics delivery.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights.
- Develop scalable data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and SQL-based reporting solutions.
- Participate in BI initiatives through the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment and enhancements.
- Optimize Power BI performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve report usability, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to BI development standards, best practices, and reusable design patterns.
- Support data modernization initiatives while maintaining and enhancing existing reporting platforms.
- Align risk and control practices with day-to-day responsibilities to appropriately monitor and mitigate risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
- 4-7 years of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or related technology roles.
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
Talent Needed for Success
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, with strong expertise in Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling.
- Strong data modeling skills, including star schema design, relationships, and performance optimization.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex queries.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Experience managing Power BI deployments across Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Knowledge of Power BI performance tuning and report optimization techniques.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Sigma Computing, Amazon QuickSight, or other BI and analytics platforms.
- Experience with AWS or cloud-based analytics environments.
- Experience supporting data modernization or enterprise reporting initiatives.
- Experience with process mapping, business analysis, and process improvement.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms.
- Financial services, capital markets, clearing, settlement, or post-trade processing experience.
