Job description
This employee will serve as a computer programmer to develop web-based software applications to support DNR technology initiatives. Job Duties Include:
- Providing software programmer/analyst support for enterprise applications.
- Writing programs that integrate multiple technologies into a comprehensive information management system by developing data base access, analysis and reporting tools using .NET/Visual Studio, C#, JavaScript and other appropriate programming languages.
- Maintaining and enhancing existing applications programs by working with Senior Applications Analyst and DNR staff to identity and resolve bugs/software problems in existing DNR programs.
- Working with staff as appropriate to develop and incorporate post-implementation software enhancements and revisions to operational software programs.
- Establishing, documenting, implementing and maintaining appropriate programming standards including agency software development framework and testing procedures, version control and change management.
- Assisting the Senior Applications Analyst and other staff with identifying user needs and developing software programming plans, development of unit testing procedures and development of user training documents and materials.

Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Knowledge of application software design, testing debugging and maintenance. Knowledge of programming concepts software design methodologies and software systems analysis; knowledge of data base structures and data access programming procedures including stored procedures; experience implementing application security protocols. Knowledge of software development quality assurance/quality control procedures and standards including version control and change management. One (1) year of experience with at least two (2) of the following programming languages: Visual Studio/.NET, C# or TSQL. Experience with report development technologies and hosting platforms such as Microsoft SSRS. Software planning and technical documentation skills.
