Job description
Under general supervision of the CNSM Technical Services Supervisor, the incumbent installs, maintains, and repairs a variety of computer workstations, laptops, network equipment, and servers. Installs and maintains all CNSM workstations, laptops and servers. Analyze operating systems and applications software for deployment in CNSM Plan, design, and deploy technical projects. Provide viable and thorough solutions to a wide variety of information technology problems for faculty, staff and students. In addition, the incumbent assists with administration of the CNSM physical and virtual infrastructure in conjunction with other CSULB units., * Installation, maintenance and repair of computer hardware and software. Maintain and update CNSM inventory of equipment.
- Provide support and consultation for Academic, Administrative, and Special Events technology needs.
- Assists with administration of the CNSM physical and virtual infrastructure in conjunction with other CSULB units safeguarding personal and confidential information.
- Act as liaison for campus technical community and with off-campus vendors.
- Assist with scanning electron microscope, training, and troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses extensive proficiency in a wide range of computer software applications and demonstrates strong technical expertise across multiple operating systems and environments, including Windows, Windows Server, DOS, Linux/UNIX, vSphere/ESX, Mac OS, Chrome OS, and both physical and virtual desktop infrastructures. They have a solid understanding of key enterprise technologies such as Intune, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), security administration, SCCM, IPv6, and VLANs. In addition to their technical capabilities, the candidate is a critical and creative thinker who can independently leverage available resources to develop efficient solutions, optimize equipment usage, improve information flow, and reduce operational bottlenecks. They possess a thorough understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and are committed to maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate also demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Education and Experience
- Equivalent to Bachelor of Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in student services or a customer service related field., Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

- CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,787 (Step 1) - $8,430 (Step 20) per month.
