Job description

The Network Data Center Engineer provides support for data center LANs, WAN connections, and application performance troubleshooting. This individual is responsible for delivery of new functionality, day-to-day operations, and participating in break/fix activities supporting the Enterprise HFHS Networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, or related work experience.
  • Five years or more experience designing and implementing comprehensive network solutions using Avaya, Cisco, or Extreme Products. Training/familiarity with Nortel and Cisco architecture and design practices.
  • Training and/or Industry recognized certifications with designing, maintaining and interconnecting wide area networks.
  • Firm understanding of the OSI model.
  • Three to seven (3-7) years of experience in a large, complex network environment using Avaya/Nortel 86xx, 55xx, 25xx, Cisco Nexus (7000, 55xx and 2xxx) and Cisco 65xx, 45xx, 3xxx series switches.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong fundamental knowledge working with the IP packet capture tools such as Solarwinds, Netscout, Infinsteam, etc.
  • Five to 10 years of proven success of the above job description responsibilities with experience in support of a multi-location enterprise wide area network, preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with the above listed solutions, preferred.
