Job description

The IT Sr. Project Manager has proven experience managing complex IT projects using both traditional project management approaches and Agile methodologies, with the understanding that the approach varies based on the project and circumstances. This position requires professional maturity and flexibility in approach to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that they meet project goals and Consumer Cellular expectations as defined by the documented scope, schedule, milestones and success criteria. The IT Sr. Project Manager must be a credible and effective communicator, successful in building relationships and rapport across all levels of the organization. This role will interface directly with internal resources, vendors, and partners, and requires the management of resources and activities to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

You will need to reside within 50 miles of our Corporate Headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ as this role has the option of hybrid or onsite.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages IT operations, infrastructure, software development, and/or telephony projects.

  • Develops project plans, goals, and budgets; identifying resources needed.

  • Develops schedules and methods for measuring results.

  • Guides and performs strategic analysis for the project.

  • Organizes and manages all phases of the project to ensure on-time completion.

  • Assembles and coordinates project team members; assigning individual responsibilities.

  • Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of project communications.

  • Leads issue identification, tracking, escalation and resolution.

  • Monitors risk events before becoming issues and potential roadblocks.

  • Works with plan and task owners to create and update status and task reporting.

  • Schedules and or participate in recurring meetings to review and monitor project tasks and status.

  • Facilitates planning and design reviews, reporting status, and obtaining sign-offs for appropriate phase-gates and change control.

  • Tracks the build out of project testing and training needs.

  • Tracks the execution of the legacy equipment decommissioning plans.

  • Manage various PMO and IT growth and improvement projects, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and experience.

  • PMP strongly preferred; Scrum Master or Agile certification preferred - or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in IT project management experience in a highly collaborative IT environment required, including a minimum of 4 years of experience leading the planning and management of all sizes of infrastructure, network, cloud, datacenter, SaaS, software development and IT/IS support projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in Project Portfolio Management methodology.

  • Proficiency with project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and Smartsheet.

  • Experience in IT release planning, change management, and coordination of release activities required.

  • Some experience with SQL server and Microsoft Azure technologies preferred.

  • Strong problem-resolution and analytical skills required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning, task assignments, and learning new technologies required.

  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle or other iterative development practices and tools, required.

  • Understanding of the value of commitments to delivery made by the project team.

  • Proficiency in IT Systems and understanding of Networking and Computer Information Systems preferred.

  • Experience in Information Security, Telephony and Call Centers preferred.

  • Demonstrates accountability, monitoring and reporting on project health and progress; manage what is measured.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels in the organization (with senior management, with technical and business-oriented project staff, with users and stakeholders).

  • Ability to gain the confidence of the team as well as Executive-level stakeholders by communicating regularly, keeping commitments and delivering as promised.

  • Ability to foster buy-in and cooperation through persuasion, influence, and persistence.

  • Strong analytical and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to use SQL databases.

  • Ability to work effectively independently, and as a member of a team, such as BAs, Product Owners, Developers, and SW Testers.

  • Able to negotiate with peers and superiors to ensure the work gets done.

  • Ability to easily multitask.

  • Well-organized and capable of tracking, managing, and resolving issues on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Self-motivated, professional, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity in a diverse organizational environment.

Pay & Benefits Data (in accordance with the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act)

  • Minimum Salary: $111,300

  • Maximum Salary: $161,700

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
