Job description

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer on behalf of our client in Arlington, VA. We are looking for an experienced data professional with deep expertise in Snowflake, cloud data platforms, and modern data engineering practices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and supporting scalable data solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytics and data platform capabilities. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions using Snowflake. Build and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows. Optimize Snowflake performance, scalability, and cost through effective use of warehouses, resource monitors, and other platform capabilities. Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Implement Snowflake features such as Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Secure Data Sharing, and Snowpark where appropriate. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions. Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance with organizational standards. Troubleshoot complex data platform issues and recommend performance improvements. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and implementation planning.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 12+ years of overall experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles. 8+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise data solutions. 4+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake. Strong expertise in Snowflake platform features, including virtual warehouses, resource monitors, Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Secure Data Sharing, Streams, Tasks, Snowpark, and security controls. Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT design patterns. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, and regulatory compliance. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to technical solution design. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, and machine learning workloads. Snowflake certifications are a plus. Experience working in Agile development environments.
