Job description
We are seeking a Network Engineer with a specialized background in heavy industrial environments-specifically mining-to join our global infrastructure team. Based out of our Las Vegas office, you will design, implement, secure, and maintain the critical network architecture that connects our corporate enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate understands how to manage large-scale enterprise routing and switching while ensuring that mission-critical, high-availability networks function flawlessly in harsh, remote mine-site environments., * Network Operations: Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot our regional network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity between regional offices, data centers, and remote operations. * Industrial Site Connectivity: Support robust, low-latency field networks utilizing a mix of industrial switching, wireless mesh, private LTE/5G, and satellite communications (VSAT/Starlink) to support active mining environments. * IT/OT Convergence & Security: Support and enforce strict network segmentation and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST) to securely bridge corporate IT networks with operational mine-site networks (SCADA, PLCs, Autonomous Fleet Systems). * Global Standardization Alignment: Align with global network standards, ensuring uniformity in hardware, security policies, and performance across all international sites. * Site Deployments & Travel: Travel to domestic mine sites to lead network commissioning, assist with site surveys, and audit infrastructure hardware.
Requirements
Experience: 4+ years of experience in network engineering within a large-scale enterprise or global organization. * Mining / Industrial Domain: Direct, hands-on experience designing or troubleshooting network infrastructure on active mine sites or heavy industrial facilities. * Technical Stack: Deep proficiency with Cisco, Aruba, or Juniper enterprise routing/switching, next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), SD-WAN architecture, and wireless technologies., Certifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise or Security), or equivalent. * Mining Systems Familiarity: Experience networking for Fleet Management Systems (FMS) like Caterpillar MineStar, Modular Mining, or Wenco. * Language Skills: Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French) is a plus given our global footprint, though not required.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work comfortably in remote, high-altitude, or extreme weather environments (desert heat, dust) during site visits.
- Adherence to all site PPE requirements, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility clothing.
