  • Coach the team on Agile and Scrum principles, helping to implement and mature Agile processes in an environment with limited prior Agile adoption
  • Guide the team in establishing effective workflows, roles, and norms while reinforcing accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Product Owners, engineering leadership, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, scope, and delivery expectations
  • Identify and remove impediments, escalating risks and issues as needed to ensure smooth sprint execution
  • Track and report on Agile metrics (velocity, sprint commitments, delivery trends) and use insights to drive improvement
  • Foster collaboration across a distributed team (onshore/offshore) and help promote clear communication and transparency
  • Bring enough technical understanding to engage credibly with engineers, ask the right questions, and challenge assumptions when needed

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Scrum Master supporting development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Proven ability to coach teams that are new or relatively immature in Agile practices
  • Deep understanding of Scrum ceremonies, Agile frameworks, and best practices, with the confidence to hold teams accountable
  • Experience working with medium-to-large development teams, including distributed/onshore-offshore models
  • Solid technical aptitude with the ability to understand system-level discussions and "call out BS" when necessary

Technical Environment (Working Knowledge Preferred)

  • AWS (including ECS)
  • Messaging frameworks (Kafka or similar)
  • Relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
  • Web services and APIs
  • Data-intensive systems and integrations

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting payroll, compensation, or crew-related systems
  • Prior experience introducing Scrum Master roles into teams without existing Agile structure
  • Scrum Master or Agile certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe, etc.)
