Delivery Consultant, Data Engineering and Gen AI

Join Deloitte's Government & Public Services (GPS) practice as a Consultant, Data Engineering and help deliver data solutions that support mission-driven outcomes. In this role, you will contribute to the design, build, and execution of data engineering and conversion solutions for government clients. You will work across data migration, integration, and validation activities to help clients modernize platforms and scale their data capabilities within Deloitte's US Delivery Center model.

Work you'll do

As a Delivery Consultant, Data Engineering GenAI on the AI & Data team, you will be responsible for...

• Designing, building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and data integration workflows

• Supporting the development and deployment of cloud-based data engineering solutions for analytics and artificial intelligence use cases

• Preparing, transforming, and validating structured and unstructured data for downstream reporting, modeling, and operational use

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, improve data quality, and optimize platform performance

• Documenting technical designs, development activities, and production support procedures in alignment with project standards

• Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product

• Ability to build and sustain professional relationships

• Ability to lead projects or workstreams

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Ability to provide clear guidance to others, + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, or Engineering

• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting data pipelines and data integration solutions

• 3+ years of experience with Python and Structured Query Language

• 2+ years of experience with cloud-based data engineering tools or platforms

• 1+ year of experience supporting artificial intelligence or generative artificial intelligence data use cases

• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Preferred:

• Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

• Experience with Agentic AI development

• Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, or distributed data processing frameworks

• Experience supporting large language model, vector database, or retrieval-augmented generation implementations

• Experience serving government or public sector clients
