Join a high-impact infrastructure team focused on building the systems that help engineers and researchers safely ship changes, run experiments, and improve developer productivity at scale. This remote Software Engineer role centers on feature flagging, dynamic configuration, and experimentation platforms that support both research and production workloads. Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for configuration and experimentation infrastructure.
- Build and improve feature flagging, dynamic configuration, and experimentation systems used across engineering teams.
- Develop scalable, reliable distributed systems and shared libraries that support high-volume config and experimentation workloads.
- Create and maintain platforms and tooling that help teams safely roll out changes, run experiments, and measure impact.
- Partner with internal teams to turn goals into execution plans and support related deployment, testing, and release workflows.
- Establish standards, frameworks, and tooling that improve developer productivity across research and production environments.
- Work independently on complex, ambiguous technical challenges with a strong focus on reliability and impact.
Requirements
- Strong background in configuration management, feature flagging, and/or experimentation platforms in large-scale environments.
- Proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or Go.
- Experience building and operating distributed infrastructure and shared services.
- Knowledge of container orchestration and infrastructure at scale.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support internal partners effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on developer experience and reducing friction.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with platforms such as Statsig, GrowthBook, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Unleash, or similar tools.
- Background building in-house config or experimentation systems.
- Experience designing experimentation frameworks, including assignment logic, metrics pipelines, and statistical analysis.
- Hands-on experience with safe rollout mechanisms such as gradual releases, kill switches, and targeting rules.
- Experience building CLI tools, APIs, and automation workflows that integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior experience leading large, complex technical projects or serving as a technical lead.
