- Lead and develop a team of software engineers delivering Underwriting/ACAPS capabilities.
- Drive execution of engineering modernization roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities, customer needs, and enterprise technology strategies with clear business outcomes
- Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native solutions.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices including Agile delivery, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, observability, and SRE principles.
- Oversee API platform development, integration services, microservices architecture, and partner ecosystem connectivity.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, reliability, and operational excellence while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage hiring, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and career development for engineering talent.
- Lead technology modernization efforts focused on cloud adoption, digital transformation, automation, and engineering efficiency.
Requirements
Software Engineering Director exhibits a mix of technical acumen, strategy and vision, along with the ability to cultivate and grow technical talent. An advanced technologist enabling strong coding practices and solid design decisions. Builds meaningful relationships and effectively partners to remove organizational obstacles and guide cross-team strategic efforts. Acts as agile/product champion by enabling product teams and partnering with other leaders to drive empowerment, autonomy, engineering momentum, and business value. Fosters a culture of empowerment, engineering excellence, and growth., Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years of relevant software engineering experience
- Five or more years of experience leading a software engineering team
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Strong software engineering experience with 5+ years leading engineering teams in banking, fintech, payments, or digital platforms.
- Strong experience building and managing large-scale Digital Banking platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and cloud-native architectures.
- Proven experience delivering microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and high-volume transaction processing systems.
- Deep knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and platform observability tools.
- Strong understanding of financial services security, authentication, OAuth/OIDC, API governance, risk controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams using Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or product-centric delivery models.
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical and business decisions.
- Experience Building AI driven decision automation while delivering efficiencies with a clear business outcome.
