Job description

JOB DUTIES: Follow Alps Alpine North America's software development process to design software for automotive and consumer applications per customer specifications and requirements on selected microcontrollers. Review, analyze and understand customer requirements to develop system requirements and software requirements. Create software design that can run efficiently and reliably on the target embedded platform and ensure software design is reviewed and approved. Advise hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems. Develop software unit, write clean, efficient, and well-documented code and perform code review. Create unit test and perform unit testing and run code analysis deliver reports. Work with other software/hardware engineers for software integration, software-hardware integration and system integration. Debug software development on target running environment. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects. Perform software function testing, release software and provide technical support to customers. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in software development technology. Conduct meetings with the software team to discuss new project developments and requirements needed for each project. Participate in requirement, design, code, release reviews and provide feedback to other engineers.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience in embedded software design and development and in embedded system with in-depth knowledge of microcontroller for transportation applications; including five (5) years of experience in vehicle BUS communication protocol; with programming skills in C, Python, C++, Java; with software development methodologies like Agile, ASPICE and DevOps and strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and Operating System.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 25% domestic and international travel including to Texas and Japan
