Job description
Provide technical administrative support for Con Edison Distribution Control Center's computer systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software for desktops, workstations, and servers.
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure system readiness and reliability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize functionality.
- Manage and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Help maintain network security protocols, access controls, and monitor for security breaches.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues both in-person and remotely.
- Support data center operations, including monitoring UPS power/cooling units and coordinating maintenance with vendors.
- Assist with user account setup, email configuration, and access permissions.
- Implement and manage data backup and disaster recovery solutions; participate in drills and testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation on system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Prepare reports on system performance and incident resolutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and IT helpdesk to support business objectives and resolve issues.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending IT hardware and software purchases for cost containment.
- Support asset tracking for computer and printer devices.
- Configure PC network settings, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Support hardware decommissioning and business moves/changes.
- Manage escalations and client expectations through to resolution.
- Direct third-party vendors in diagnosing and resolving system-related issues.
- Research new IT services/vendors in collaboration with management.
- Work flexible hours, respond to emergencies, and travel within service territory as needed.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years' related IT experience, or Associate's degree with technical certification and 4+ years' related IT experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Desktop and Server OS administration.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.

Experience with imaging and deploying desktops/workstations/laptops.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Experience with ticket queue systems (e.g., ServiceNow).

Valid driver's license.

Willingness to work off-hours, travel as needed, and respond to emergencies. Preferred Qualifications:
