Job description

Are you the type of technology leader who enjoys owning the entire internal technology landscape—not just infrastructure, not just applications, but the complete ecosystem that keeps a growing organization running? We're partnering with a rapidly growing, technology-driven professional services organization seeking a Vice President of Information Technology to lead its internal IT function. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, this is a highly visible leadership role for someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational excellence. This is an opportunity to inherit an established technology organization, lead high-impact initiatives already underway, strengthen cybersecurity, mentor experienced technical leaders, and serve as the executive responsible for the reliability, scalability, and security of the company's internal technology environment. If you enjoy building relationships across the business, leading strong technical teams, solving complex operational challenges, and creating technology that enables growth, we'd love to speak with you. What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Lead the company's internal technology organization, including enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, end-user support, and technology operations.
  • Oversee a portfolio of high-visibility technology initiatives, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to experienced technology managers while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the organization's cybersecurity program, including governance, risk management, security frameworks, vulnerability management, access controls, security awareness, audit readiness, and incident response.
  • Guide enterprise application strategy, including ongoing enhancements, integrations, vendor implementations, and application lifecycle management.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize technology investments and deliver exceptional internal customer service.
  • Establish technology governance, operational standards, documentation, and scalable processes that support continued organizational growth.
  • Manage technology vendors, licensing, support agreements, implementation partners, and technology budgets.
  • Support acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition technology integration activities.
  • Create a service-oriented IT culture focused on responsiveness, reliability, security, and business partnership., This is a newly created executive leadership position designed to give an experienced technology leader real ownership. You'll inherit experienced managers, an active portfolio of enterprise initiatives, and the opportunity to shape the future direction of the company's internal technology organization while partnering directly with executive leadership. You'll have meaningful influence over technology strategy, cybersecurity maturity, enterprise applications, operational excellence, and organizational growth—all while freeing executive leadership to focus on future innovation initiatives.?

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
  • 8+ years leading enterprise IT organizations.
  • Experience overseeing enterprise business applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, cybersecurity, and technology operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading software development initiatives, enterprise application implementations, and complex technology programs.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), application delivery, release management, integrations, testing, and production support.
  • Deep cybersecurity experience, including security frameworks, governance, compliance, audit preparation, risk management, identity and access management, and incident response.
  • Experience leading technical managers and distributed development teams, including offshore resources.
  • Strong Microsoft technology ecosystem experience, including Azure and modern Microsoft cloud technologies.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, consulting partners, software licensing, budgets, and contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

The Ideal Leader You'll likely be successful here if you are:

  • A strategic thinker who enjoys rolling up your sleeves when needed.
  • Comfortable making decisions independently while keeping executive leadership informed.
  • A collaborative partner who builds trust across business functions.
  • Highly organized and execution-focused, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Customer-service minded and passionate about delivering a high-quality internal technology experience.
  • Skilled at developing technical leaders rather than managing every detail yourself.
  • Equally comfortable discussing technology strategy, security posture, application architecture, and business priorities.
