Insight Global is seeking a team of IT Radio Technicians to support mission-critical communications for government and public safety operations fully on site in Washington, DC area. This individual will support a highly visible communications program responsible for maintaining, programming, deploying, and troubleshooting radio equipment and supporting infrastructure used in support of daily operations and events.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in military communications, telecommunications, radio systems, IT/network support, SATCOM, field service, or technical operations environments. The team supports mobile and portable radios, network-connected communications equipment, inventory systems, and field deployments that help ensure reliable communications.
Successful candidates are hands-on troubleshooters who enjoy working with technology, solving technical problems, supporting end users, and maintaining mission-critical equipment in a fast-paced operational environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Program, configure, and support mobile and portable radio equipment and associated communications infrastructure.

Troubleshoot radio, network, and connectivity issues affecting field-deployed communications equipment.

Support inventory management activities, including barcode scanning, asset tracking, equipment audits, and database updates.

Receive, stage, test, package, and deploy communications equipment for customer sites and special events.

Pick, pack, and ship radio kits, tactical communications equipment, antennas, cables, and associated hardware.

Perform basic network troubleshooting using tools such as ping, network connectivity testing, and remote device diagnostics.

Support equipment installation, cable management, and hardware integration activities.

Assist with shipping and receiving operations, equipment inspections, and inventory reconciliation efforts.

Maintain accurate records within inventory management and tracking systems.

Provide Level 1 technical support for communications and network-connected devices.

Work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues while supporting operational deadlines and mission requirements.
Requirements
Associate's degree, technical certificate, military communications training, or equivalent hands-on experience.

2+ years of experience supporting communications systems, radio systems, telecommunications equipment, networking equipment, or related technologies.

Experience troubleshooting hardware, communications equipment, network connectivity issues, or field-deployed technology.

Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including IP addressing, DNS, ping, traceroute, VLANs, routing/switching concepts, and remote device troubleshooting.

Experience supporting routers, switches, mobile devices, radios, or network-connected infrastructure.

Ability to use command-line tools and basic network troubleshooting techniques to identify connectivity issues.

Experience maintaining equipment inventories, documenting work performed, and following technical procedures.

Comfortable lifting equipment, preparing shipments, and supporting warehouse/logistics operations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Eligibility to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance and pass financial/criminal background checks. - Experience with Motorola, L3Harris, or other Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.

Experience programming subscriber radios or supporting P25 environments.

Familiarity with trunked and conventional radio systems.

Understanding of RF fundamentals including UHF, VHF, repeaters, and simplex communications.

Experience creating or terminating CAT5/CAT6 cables.

Experience with Motorola CPS, codeplugs, encryption keys, or radio provisioning.

Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, wattmeters, oscilloscopes, or cable testers.

Military communications, SATCOM, public safety communications, or federal communications experience.

Active DHS Public Trust, Secret Clearance, or prior federal clearance.
Benefits & conditions
$33hr to $42hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
