Job description
- Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Infrastructure Engineering.
- Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Infrastructure Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
- Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
- Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
- Engineer, maintain, and enhance enterprise automation solutions using HCL BigFix.
- Develop and support BigFix relevance, actionscript, fixlets, tasks, baselines, analyses, dashboards, and reporting content.
- Support enterprise patching processes across Windows, Linux, and Unix server platforms.
- Design and implement BigFix integrations with enterprise platforms such as:
- Qualys
- ServiceNow
- Patch tracking and compliance systems
- Vulnerability management tools
- Internal reporting and automation platforms
- Build automation workflows that improve patch delivery, vulnerability identification, remediation tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Partner with infrastructure, security, application, middleware, change management, and operations teams to deliver complex enterprise solutions.
- Support patch reporting, vulnerability remediation reporting, exception tracking, and executive-level compliance views.
- Troubleshoot BigFix client, relay, server, content, and reporting issues across large-scale environments.
- Analyze patch compliance and vulnerability data to identify gaps, trends, and remediation opportunities.
- Coordinate complex projects across multiple enterprise teams and technology platforms.
- Prepare and deliver technical updates, project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
- Contribute to automation strategy, standards, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted approaches to improve automation, reporting, operational efficiency, and vulnerability management workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
- 5-10 years of hands-on BigFix experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong experience with BigFix relevance language, actionscript, custom fixlet creation, support, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using BigFix for:
- Enterprise patch deployment
- Patch compliance reporting
- Vulnerability remediation tracking
- Server lifecycle automation
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following BigFix components:
- BigFix Inventory
- BigFix Patch
- BigFix Compliance
- BigFix Lifecycle
- Experience supporting patching and automation across both:
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Unix/Linux server platforms
- Ability to engineer complex automation solutions across multiple enterprise tools and teams.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management, patch governance, and enterprise remediation processes.
- Experience coordinating work across infrastructure, security, application, middleware, and operations teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts, project updates, and risks to leadership.
- Experience using AI tools or AI-assisted automation concepts to improve engineering, reporting, or operational workflows.
